A couple of weeks ago Meg went to Philadelphia for a week-long conference and Michael's best buddy, Grandpa, jumped to the rescue. With Grandpa's tutelage, Michael was combat crawling with speed and determination, sitting up all by himself, and standing as if he's ready to take off. Without a doubt, they enjoyed their time being goofy and hanging out.
Then Michael had a visit with his Nannie. During their special bonding time, they went to lunch, church, and played with all of his great toys. She gave her "pudding" plenty of cuddles and love.
Thank goodness for doting grandparents. Michael is one lucky kid and it's easily reciprocated.
Michael is now in the 40th percentile (up from 23rd) in weight and 90th percentile in height (genetics at work there) and is developmentally caught up. Given that a substantial amount of Michael's growing time was spent in a hospital bed, we are all just thrilled with his growth and determination.
Michael also has a new friend, Jessica. Meg and Thomas could not be happier knowing that Michael is getting the best care from Jess, who utilizes her degree in child development to play and continue with Michael's progress. Jess was introduced to them through Carrie, Michael's best buddy Asher's mom, and Megan's dear friend. Jess is amazing and Megan's grateful Michael is getting such wonderful care while she's working.
On a final note, a new song, Back in the NY Groove, has been added to the playlist (and ZipaDeeDoDa has been taken off, per cousin Kristin's request). This is Michael's favorite song. When he hears the opening beats to NY Groove come on, his legs flail, arms flap, and he lets out a screech that says, "It's time to dance!" (genetics, as well). Michael and his mom (and whomever else is around) rock out nightly in front of the floor-to-ceiling mirrors, while the Mickster cracks up and lets out his yelps of excitement. Feel free to rock out, too.

Well good news all around. Thanks for the update. I can't wait to see Michael rockin out. Poor thing with the ear infection Nicholas was so close to tubes with all the ones he had. Not fun but enevitable with teething and all that extra fluid. Love you guys.

I've been out of touch and just got to catch up on all the great pictures and good news. Mick looks wonderful!! Sorry about the ear infections -- both my kids had them and they are terrible (Shawn had to have tubes when he was 3).
Hang in there - you guys are amazing parents - Mick looks so happy and he is so beautiful!
Love to all - Nancy
We are sitting in the McDonald's parking lot tapping into their wireless high speed line. The house we are renting only has dial-up. It is wonderful to catch up with all your news. Great to see Michael looking so healthy. Thank God.
