FEEL THE LOVE

( I started to write this a few days ago, just finished wish could be longer but dont have time)

I don’t think I have been able to digest everything that has happened over the past four weeks. I ran on adrenalin and the idea that I must be strong for Mick. Reflecting on what has happened has been overwhelming. To think of what my son has been through and what his future holds is extremely difficult. With Michael we appreciate every day, taking nothing for granted.

This past go around was much more heart wrenching. We are just so in love with Michael it was so horrible to see him go through everything. I truly felt helpless. Our time in the Hospital was more critical then we shared. His operation was only supposed to be 3 hrs. it turned out to be 7hrs. At one point things looked so dire, they said Michael would have to go back in to the operating room and they would have to go back into his heart. At that point I lost it and had a long talk with our team Heaven. Team Heaven, Uncle Mick, Grannie Helen, Granddad Bill, My Papa James, Nana Joan, My Grandpa Tom, and Grammie Kay, and God. I also turned to everyone that had been following Mick for immediate support!

There are no words to describe our experience and hope none of you will ever have to know.

Once again I am so thankful to my amazing Husband, Family and Friends. We are so grateful for your love, prayers and support.

Our prayers were answered again and he beat the odds.

I was so grateful our families were with us! And Extremely grateful my Mother in Law who was able to stay with me at the hospital for the week. I could not have done it without her. My father in Law who was able to delay his trip to England so my mother in Law could Stay with me.

Many Thanks to:

Sarah for Driving up from DC and staying with us at the hospital and helping us with a safe trip Home. Sarah stayed threw Monday and was a tremendous help! Thomas put her right to work! How lucky we are to have her!

My Dad who was able to come the week after so I could catch up with rest! My mom who sent my favorite food so I would not have to cook! She also insisted that my Dad come to help, she knew I needed to rest.

And boy do I love the fact that Caitlin lives in NYC, she has been my savior!

Michael James Sheehan Irwin is our Miracle He did it again!

Mick is doing a Million times better thanks to Medical team, Miracles and all of you. We are thankful once again, we did not walk alone.

I wrote this song for Michael that I sang to him at least 10 times a day when it was just the two of us.

It was inspired by my Nana, it was her three year anniversary this past Tuesday. My Nana died unexpectedly, of an asthma attack, at the age of 75.
She did not want to wake anyone when she had the attack at 3 a.m. She did not want to alarm papa or her neighbors with an ambulance, so she waited until 9 am to call. By that time it was too late. She was the mother of 8 wonderful children and Nana to 18 grandchildren who adored her.

When I lived in Boston, My sister and I would go to our Nana and Papa’s house twice a week for dinner. My papa was very ill at the time and could sometimes be cranky and give my Nana a hard time.

My Papa was one of my best friends. I would always joke with him. I would say, Papa lighten up, I would poke him with his cane and yell FEEL THE LOVE, FEEL THE LOVE, FEEL THE LOVE ( in a funny voice and putting my hands on his heart ) My Nana would laugh so hard that she would have tears coming from her eye.

And when she told others what my trick was to put a smile on my Papa’s face she would laugh equally as hard. So every time I saw them I would do it just to get a great laugh out of the two of them.
It never got old for them.

My Papa, James Walsh, pasted away six months ago. Three weeks before Michael James was born.
He was so excited that Michael James was going to be named after him.
It was his goal to be there for his birth.
We never told Papa of Michael’s Special Heart. It would have been too hard for him. He also would not have understood why he would not be able to see him after he was born.

After he pasted away, I made him promise me that he would Fight Like Hell for Mick. I think he got the Message and is working extra hard with the rest of team heaven.
I can certainly FEEL THE LOVE from Heaven.

My papa survived 9 heart attacks and had at least 20 lives. He was a fighter, and Survivor Just like Uncle Mick!

MY HAPPINESS was my Nana and Papa's wedding song, I love it.

To: My Irish Tiger, Michael James

Megan,
What a beautiful song and equally beautiful tribute to Team Heaven. My greatest memory that I hold so dear, is Nana telling me the Megan "Feel the Love" story with tears running down her face, laughing like I had not seen in a long time. You brought so much joy to your Nana and Papa!! We continue to be in awe of your faith, strength and courage. Little Mick is so blessed with such amazing parents and family surrounding him. Give our little angel a hug and kiss from all of us. Love you all!!! Rose,Bill, Bryan and Kristin
