Well, Michael had a wonderful week hanging out with his new best buddy, Grandpa Ed. Grandpa was able to spend the whole week playing, caring, and napping with Mick. Michael was entertained by Grandpa's silly faces and noises and spent the week cracking up and in awe. Meg was able to get in some quality work time in, thanks to her temporary sitter.
Michael's doctor appointments went well this week. He put on the charm and flirted with all of the nurses as they made their way through doctors' offices. The cardiologist was thrilled with Mick's saturation levels and with the strength of his heart. Michael's growing strong. He weighed in at 13 pounds, 12 ounces and has sprouted to 26 inches long! He keeps amazing everyone.
We'll keep you updated with Michael's catheterization appointment, which should be within the next few weeks.
Michael's aunt Caitlin is doing great. I'm getting lots of rest and recovering nicely. Thanks for all of the kind thoughts.
Michael is ecstatic, as his Nannie and aunt Sarah arrive to spoil him rotten with attention and love.
Thanks for the continued thoughts and prayers. This little guy is teaching us life's special lessons.

Ed taught Michael his name. In the video he points to his name on Grandpa's shirt. Lindsey, Megan's boss, gave us all Team Mick hospital scrubs and Mick now can point to his name. What a smart baby he is.
We're keeping cousin Shaun Smith in our thoughts and prayers as he prepares to head back to Houston to access the aftermath of Hurricane IKE.
Love to all.
Betsy
I loved the video -- so sweet. I hope Ed didn't teach Mick any bad habits!! We look forward to hearing about his continued progress!
By the way, Cousin Shawn Smith is in Houston at his future father-in-laws. They lost power but no broken windows or flooding. It will be a big job to get Houston back in shape. No news on his house yet but we hope for the best!
Love to all - Nancy
We can't get over how big "little" Mick is getting!! I'm sure he had a great time bonding with his grandpa - and will have another fun week ahead of him.
