Resting for the Night

Michael and his parents are in a private family room at New York Presbyterian-Columbia University hospital. Right now, Michael's sleeping in his crib and Meg and Thomas have a little lounging bed. It's nice that they have their own room since all of the doctors prescribed rest for tonight.

Michael should be going into surgery around 7:30 a.m. The surgery will take around 4 hours, so we'll update as we hear more.

Megan and Thomas are just remarkable in their ability to comfort each other and, especially, Michael.

Michael has been through the ringer and is handling it as only a loving, laughing, laid back, miraculous, angelic, inspiring Irish tiger can.

Thank you for your continued prayers and good wishes. We are constantly checking the comments, encouraged by all of the people thinking about and for little Mick. We can feel the love all the way to 165th Street.

Just to say we all thinking of you all and all our thoughts and prayers are with you - Stay strong and brave all of you - Michael wasn't called Michael for nothing (he was named after Uncle Mick 'the toughest guy on the block /from the 'school of hard knocks' as they say in Liverpool. )I know he's going to make it he was born to the breed of strong blood on both sides. We're with you all the way. From all his Aunties/Uncles & many many cousins !!in UK especially Auntie Barbara & Uncle Bill & familyxxxxxxx

We are all united in prayer for Michael James and for you Meg and Tommy. Our miracle baby is teaching us all about the precious gifts of love, faith, family, and friendship.

He truly is God sent.

Love,
Mom and Dad
