We had a echo done yesterday at 4:45 and did not get out until 6.
The cardiologist from Columbia was concerned that the staff at Cornell never got a clear image of Michael's Arch. He ordered an immediate echo for yesterday. What they found was a narrowing of Michael's arch. (This can happen with the Sano Shunt) and we are back to the original schedule for Mick's next open heart for the 1st or 2nd week of Oct.
The issue now is his cath. the dr. who was suppose to do it is getting back surgery and I only want the best to do this procedure. The narrowing of Michael's arch is where the blood vessels lead to the Brain are located, as such it is a more critical procedure. I am thinking of bringing Mick to Boston or Philly but this must be done sometime in the next 2 weeks. They are aiming for next week.
The cardiologist from Colombia was not surprised to see this. He is glad that they caught it, and did not have Mick wait until after the winter for next op.
We were originally told that he was going to need his next open heart 3-4 mths after the 1st op. so the fact that Mick will make it to 5 mths is great! His body just needs the help! After the next op. is when HLHS babies thrive so this will be a good thing. Just Please Keep Praying !

Sorry about the news but better it was caught. He is a fighter and has the best team working on him. Let me know if there is anything I can do. We pray everyday for Michael.
