Happy Fathers Day!!!

Hello everyone,
Well we have had the most amazing weekend. It started off with the happiest Friday of my life, Michael's homecoming! It was Aunt Sarah's and Aunt Gabriel's birthday. Sarah was thrilled with Michael's first birthday gift to her, his safe trip home! We went straight to Michael pediatrician for an evaluation and then it was to Home Sweet Home. Michael loves being home! Thomas and myself can't get enough of him!

Last feeding at the hospital with daddy

Saturday we spent the day at home. The visiting nurse came to meet Michael she was very impressed how calm he was. A visiting nurse will be coming throughout the next few months tracking Mick's progress. It was such a treat having our little one all to ourselves for the entire day and night. I could not stop staring at him. He makes the cutest faces. No, we did not get much sleep but we certainly did not mind. We had the initiation of parenting from home. Mick woke up to eat and went right back to sleep. I did catch him a few times throughout the night awake just looking at his Mobile, he is just too cute!

Michael had a big day today!! It started with giving daddy his first father's day card. Then we went to Mass as a family. Michael was an angel and slept the entire time. Our church, Loyala, has included Michael in their intentions for the past month so they were thrilled to meet our miracle. After mass, we brought Mick to Wicker Park, one of our favorite restaurants. Thomas was as proud as could be on his first Father's Day.

He had Michael watch his first Yankee's game. (I know family. I had to let him. It was Father's Day but don't worry, Michael will be watching plenty of Red Sox games as well.) We took Michael for a walk around our neighborhood and then headed home for the night.

Tomorrow is a big day we are going for our first check up. The doctor is going to give us an idea of when Michael's second surgery will be. They think it might be 3 to 4 months because of the shunt that was used for Michael's heart. Please keep your good thoughts & prayers coming. We still have a long journey. Don't stop believing!!
Love to all.

Proud Mama :)

This has brought the biggest smile to my face and a tear to my eye. You all are amazing and I just praise God for all of this joy that little Mick has brought the world. The pictures are wonderful. The fact that you, Meg, are able to take over the blog is fabulous. You have been so strong. May you continue to be so blessed and love will be spread because your little one was brought into this world. -Corey and Brett Porter (the Missouri extension!)
