HI everyone, sorry I have been a major blogg slacker. As you can see I started this blog on Sunday and am just now finishing. Quite a bit has happened in a week.
It is fitting that I entitled this blog My Happiness. I forgot, but was reminded today by my aunt Jo that today is my Nana and Papa's wedding anniversary. My Happiness was their wedding song. My papa and my special dance at my wedding was to My Happiness. The lyrics to the song express how I feel every day, So very happy!
The greatest happiness Michael has brought to me is a new view of life and not taking anything for granted. As a new mother I appreciate all new things Michael experiences, as a new mother to a son who has HLHS I appreciate every second with our son,for that I am grateful. Nothing is a HAVE TO rather a WANT TO for Mick, for that I am grateful.Tommy and I want to change the diaper, want to have the night feedings, we want to have that time with our son. I pray every night that I never lose that a sence of appreciation. Tommy and I love being a family,I thank Michael every morning when he wakes up and every night before he goes to sleep for giving us our complete happiness, being a family.

pic, with nana and papa when I was a little one, growing up we would all get together every weekend. They sure did love all of their children, grandchildren and I am certian they were fighting for their great grandchild in Heaven.
When I think of what a good baby is, I could not come up with a better explanation then the description of Michael. Michael has been to several Doctor's appointments, (as you can see with the pics.) and not once did he cry. He just was smiling, looking around taking in all new life experiences.... even the not so pleasant ones. He was just happy to be alive.

The reason for the visits was that Mick had blood in his stools and he was throwing up some of his feeds. It turns out that he is lactose intolerant. Nothing our little Irish tiger can't handle. Since the switch to a special formula he has not had blood amd minimal spit up. Working with GI drs came in handy. Dr. Sockolow saw Michael right away and was a tremendous help. She was so excited to finally meet Michael, she has been following him through the blog. She is the greatest pediatric GI, Mick loved his visit with her and was glad to find out it was only lactose intolerant.
My son has brought so much joy and happiness to our lives. He radiates Happiness, and it is not just me that notices. Everyone he has met just falls in love with our Happy go lucky miracle.
Two weekends ago my parents got to hold Michael for the first time. My parents watched Michael for the night, we had one of Tommy's best Friends weddings in Bristol RI. My parents were in their glory. They were able to see how we fell so in love with our son. One of the greatest things I have been able to say to Michael, was "Say hello to your Nana and Grandpa,". I know my parents appreciated it just the same. I don't think I have ever seen my parents so Happy! It brought me such joy seeing them hold their first grandchild, our miracle son.

(I have a pic of my mom that still has to up load... more pics to come...)
One of the thirty phone calls I made while in RI, my dad said, "Megan, if we had a baby like Michael we would have had ten of them". I of course agreed, he just is the best!
It was very hard to leave Michael for the first time but we knew he was in great hands. My mom is the oldest of eight so taking care of babies is second nature for her. We had a wonderful time at the wedding, it was great to celebrate Teddy and Charlotte's wedding and see all of Tommy's friends. They have been a fabulous support to us.
Last weekend My in laws had their 35th wedding anniverary. We are so excited they are coming this weekend to see little Mick. We have so much to celebrate.
Last Saturday:
My Best Friends from High School came to NYC and had time with our little Mick. They could not believe that he is even cuter in person. It was special to have my best friends I grew up with meet my son for the first time. They have helped me from the beginning and have been a tremendous support. While they were here they spoiled me, by taking me to get my hair and nails done, something I have not had done in six months. It was such a treat! We then went to my favorite restaurant for dinner, it was just like old times! Tommy had, Father and son time, which he adored. He is the best daddy!

Last Monday:
Aunt Sarah flew in from London, during her eight hour lay over at JFK she managed to squeeze in a visit with her little Mick. Sarah in her short visit was able to feed, burp, change his diaper and snuggle with magic Mick. She certainly made the best with the time. She appreciated every second with Mick. We were on our way back from RI so we just missed her but look forward to seeing her this weekend!!!
Last Wed. Aunt Patsy, Jim, Lisa, Tori, and Julie were able to see little Mick I posted their visit last wed. We had a great time! They have been so great to us!
This past Friday - Sunday:

AUNTIE CAITLIN's VISIT!!!! Caitlin left work early to beat the traffic and have more time with Mick. She hopped on a China town bus to see little Mick. Her trip ended up being seven hours with a flat tire on the way to NYC. But she was still all smiles knowing she was going to be able to hold the mickster for the first time! Caitlin saw Mick at his very worst, for her see how wonderful he looks and hold him was incredibly special for the the two of us. She was amazed how far he has come. It was meeting him for the first time. A moment in my life I will never forget! Saturday Caitlin was able to have Mick time, she was thrilled to read, sing and snuggle with him. We brought Mick out to dinner and then headed home. Sunday She had a difficult time leaving Michael, as everyone does, but knew that she would see him soon! He is such happiness :)

Monday:
Aunt Rosie was in NYC for a conference and made time to meet Michael. We had a good cry when we talked all that happened and how much happiness that Michael has brought to us all. She was so thrilled to Meet the Miracle Baby, and to have him as a part of her life! We know that our team heaven had pulled many strings for the little guy! It was so nice to share my Miracle with her, I know she had been waiting to meet him!
Today: Aunt Jo, Nicholas, and sweet Caroline.
We brought Mick to the Zoo. As soon as Michael was born Caroline and Nicholas wanted to meet Mick. Nicholas and Caroline are the youngest of eighteen cousins so they were thrilled to finally meet their little cousin. Caroline was able to push Mick around in his carriage and Nicholas told Mick how he was going to teach him how to play baseball. Aunt Jo was able to hold him for the first time. She could not get over that she is a great, Aunt. She is the youngest of eight and the greatest, great aunt, who's lives in NH ( Mick has a lot of (great) Great aunts. We were so happy to spend the day with them!
We then popped by Dr. Lichtiger office to say hi, he had been eagerly awaiting his visit. We were thrilled to see him and everyone in his office. He has been an amazing support throughout this difficult time.
We will be making our rounds to all of my offices, I just need the clear from Mick's doctor.
All that has met our little man agrees, he brings complete happiness!
He is doing great! I will be posting daily so you know he is ok, they will be quick with a little pic.
My love to all :)

Mom and I are having a wonderful day in Hull. She shared with me all the beautiful writings and pictures of Mick. My favorite entry was your description of Michael's first walk through Central Park. You made me see the beauty of life through your and Michael's eyes. You are an incredible mom and writer. Your entries of all the family are a gift to all of them. What a tribute! Michael is truely a "tiger" because of the love and courage of his mom and dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you daily. You are right! Every moment spent with your child is a gift!
Love,
Rose
Please Give Michael a kiss for me.
