Smiling All the Way

Michael has been smiling and laughing all day with his parents. He's still in awe of his mom and dad and is taking in all the TLC he's being showered with. What a precious little boy.

The medical team took Mick off of the continuous feeding tube today. They are going to try and see how he does with just bottle feedings, as they get closer to sending him home. Meg and Tom got to feed him this evening and he drank up 78 cc's of milk. Michael took the opportunity to spit up 10 cc's all over his dad, a good orientation for what's to come. The nursing staff will continue bottle feeding him throughout the night.

The doctors are also encouraged by the clearing up of fluid in Michael's lungs, so his Lasiks levels were reduced. Because of his HLHS, it's not uncommon for him to have a little fluid and the team is impressed with his improvement.

We are ecstatic and inspired by his success and jovial spirit. The apple doesn't fall far.

Good morning Meg and Tommy.
Michael looks great! Please don't let the insurance company push Michael out too soon. He has been through so much.
Caitlin thanks for the midnight update. You all amaze us.
Love,
Mom and Dad
