All closed up

The surgeons finished closing Michael's chest. It was actually a multiple-stage closing and not just the stitching of skin. They are pleased with the results and will monitor him very closely throughtout the next 72 hours, given the number of surgeries he's been through and the fact that his swelling still needs to go down.

It is amazing to think of what this medical staff has been able to accomplish. These surgeons, doctors, and nurses have dedicated their careers and talents to advancing the procedures and skills that save children's lives. As one of those children, Michael and his family could not be more grateful.

Thanks for your continued thoughts.

Little Mick continues to impress us all with his strength (and his parents are pretty impressive too...)!

I'm so glad that Little Mick is also getting the best care possible from a great team of doctors and nurses.

Love, Mary Ellen and John
