Exceeding Expectations on this Beautiful Day.

Well, Michael is doing fantastic.

While the doctors were planning on slowly take Mick off of his supports Tuesday, he was doing so well that they are no longer giving him oxygen, he is off the respirator, and they've stopped his blood pressure medication. Michael's swelling has gone down and right now he's on only a morphine drip and the CPAC, which helps reduce the effort needed for him to breathe.

During Thomas and Meg's day long visit, they were able to participate in the hospital's Infant CPR class. Both were trained and certified, securing their parents of the year award. Mick even sucked on the pacifier that his dad held for him. This is a major step since this reflex often takes time to build back up after surgery.

Meg got to change Michael's diaper and he is now peeing on his own. He also cried today! These were his first wails since being brought into the world and is a great sign of his lung function. Meg and Tom are thrilled with Michael's progress that has taken everyone by surprise.

Thank you to everyone, including all of the Sunday service attendees, who kept Michael in their thoughts and intentions today. We are amazed by Michael's continued success and are just so in love with this little tiger.

Megan and Thomas,
It warms our hearts to hear that Little Mick is doing so well. We're thinking about you all the time, and so appreciate Kaitlin's updates. I found a tiger panel just begging to be made into a quilt for Michael. Hopefully it will be done before he goes to college! We love you all lots. Carol & Tom

Thank you Baby Michael James for giving us so much to be grateful for this glorious Memorial Day. Today we remember with love and a smile Papa Walsh, Grandpa Connolly, and so many relatives and friends who served for world peace.
We love you.
