Well, little Michael continues to amaze us.

Michael has been living with a restricted aorta for 24 hours now, without anyone picking up on it. This has been the cause of his limited heart function. The fact that he has done so well this far is a testament to his determined spirit and we are in awe of his will.

Before heading off to surgery, Michael had the company of his parents, who spent an hour and a half with him. They all held hands as a family and Meg and Thomas sang to Michael, "You'll Never Walk Alone."

As Michael's parents left his side, Meg threw in a few bars of "Eye of the Tiger," which she is requesting you play full blast.

Michael has been brought to the Operating Room for the surgery to widen his aorta. While being on bypass twice in twenty-four hours is very risky, it is Michael's only option and we have faith that this little fighter will do great.

We are so grateful for this hopeful turn of events.

Michael's in need of your continued prayers and thoughts.

Meg, I love that song too and you're little fighter is going to make it through with tremendous love of his parents and extended friends and family network!

All my love,
Ryan

PS (this might help)-

Risin' up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive

So many times, it happens too fast
You change your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

Chorus:
It's the eye of the tiger, it's the cream of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
And he's watchin' us all in the eye of the tiger

Face to face, out in the heat
Hangin' tough, stayin' hungry
They stack the odds 'til we take to the street
For we kill with the skill to survive

chorus

Risin' up, straight to the top
Have the guts, got the glory
Went the distance, now I'm not gonna stop
Just a man and his will to survive

chorus

The eye of the tiger (repeats out)...

What a little Tiger you have - how tough is he to hang in there until the Dr's were able to find his problem! We are all hugging you and loving you -- and we are all singing out loud.
Stay strong and continue to take such good care of eachother.
All our love & prayers

Meg, Thomas and Michael,
We have a tremendous support and prayer group here in Natick, Ma.
My neighbor Kate, who sang at Papa's funeral sent this prayer out for you and everyone is praying.

So, we pray to the Loving creator, Father and Mother to us all.
Lord, You have loved Michael James into being.
We ask that You Strengthen his little heart with Your saving love.
Let our prayers rise up and join in the eternal, life-giving energy that is You.
Send the fire of Your Holy Spirit flowing through Michael bringing every good prayer uttered on his behalf coursing through his veins.
Deliver our love, co-mingled with Yours, to his family and to this sweet baby.
Strengthen Michael and be a tangible presence to his family who need to feel the blessing of Your undeniable Love.
And, we ask all this in the name of our great teacher, Your beloved Son, Jesus.
Amen!

I found this prayer so very beautiful and just wanted you to see and hear it.
I am also singing "Eye of the Tiger"
Just waiting for post surgery news!
Love,
Patsy

Another prayer for Little Mick. We recited the Memorare at mass yesterday, and I thought it very timely. I came to find out that Sarah had already given a copy of it to you, Thomas, but here it is for all to read:

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

Thinking of you,
Ethnea
