He's doing okay.

Michael is doing okay.

This seems to be the standard response from everyone on the medical team. The "okay," as opposed to "great," is expected since he's been through so much, but your continued thoughts and prayers are needed.

We have coined this the "cautiously optimistic" phase. We certainly understand the physical toils Mick's gone through and anticipate that with some time his swelling will go down, heart function will go up, and the doctors will start saying "great."

Meg and Tom got to see him and said he looks good. The doctors wanted Mick to move his arms and legs a little, so his parents helped wake him up gently.

Michael is being helped out by many gadgets, medications, and medical instruments. They have kept him alive, but the next stage is weening him off of these supports. Monday will be a big day, since they are hoping to attempt taking him off of the respirator.

Thanks for continuing to think of him during these still cautious times. We remain optimistic that any baby who can go through this much in less than a week, can get through anything.

Lots of love.

So many people who keep you all in prayer have said how much they admire Michael's loving parents, Tom and Megan. Michael knows your love and we see your courage. It is remarkable in this short time how many of us have been drawn into the love of your precious family. Thank you for letting us share these special times. Let the love we send surround you.

Love and God bless,
Jim and Joan

We will continue to pray and keeps our spirits high as you all continue to be strong and persevere through this, one step at a time. Best wishes. Love, Corey and Brett Porter
