Michael had a great day hanging out with his mom. Megan held him and fed him and lulled him to sleep. She also got to change his first dirty diaper, after his first shocking suppository (and the only time he cried). But a picture tells a thousand words.

As soon as his dad arrived, Mick was wide awake staring at him. Michael locked eyes with Tommy while he held and fed him.
Father Don stopped by today and gave Michael a blessing. He, as is everyone, is encouraged by Mick's progress.
They are having some very special family bonding time and Michael is soaking up all of this attention and love.
Meg and Tom (and the rest of the family) wanted me to send out special thanks to Joanne, our aunt, for all she's done, and to Nicholas and Caroline for lending their mom. She arrived on Tuesday offering to help in any way she could and found her offer utilized to the fullest. Her experienced mothering skills led her to wash all of Mick's clothes so they are germ free and ready for his modeling. And she helped sterilize the apartment and prepare for Michael's eventual trip home by mopping, bleaching everything, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning out closets. And not only was she the greatest godsend by allowing Meg her cherished time with Michael, she cooked them dinner and made our Nana's infamous soup & coffee cake. Evidence that our grandmother's spirit of generosity still thrives.

The milestones and love just keep coming.
Below is a picture from Michael's day. The tube in his nose is his feeding tube, that helps to keep him nourished when he's just too tired to nosh on his own.

I'm a little disappointed in my company - they've had me out at a training for the last 2 days...don't they know I need to check up on Mick's status?!
Anyway, all of this news is so great. I'm so happy for all of you! Meg and Tommy, you both have a glow and look like naturals with the baby.
