Proud and Adoring Parents

Some very delayed reports from yesterday.

Baby Mick weighed in at 8 lbs 3 oz. This is fantastic considering all he’s been through and in relation to other infants who go through surgeries. One of the ways they are keeping his weight up is with the feeding tube through his nose. While he’s done great with the bottle, this helps to make sure he gets all of his nutrients without getting too tired. We want one plump baby!

Father Don paid a visit to his new favorite charge and is still impressed with his progress.

Michael kept his mom busy. Meg was thrilled that she “got to” change 2 dirty diapers. (We’ll check back in a few weeks to see if the excitement is still there.) Mick also wolfed down 2 bottles for Megan.

Megan had some tests of her own today. She had an echo cardiogram and genetic test for one of the studies that Michael is enrolled in. This will be a study that will help keep Michael on the cutting edge of medical research and advancement.

Michael loves his new toy mobile and just lies there staring at of the fun animals that entertain him. A gift from his great aunt, uncle, and cousins Dugger, Michael is soaking in this great gadget. The nurses continue to fight over who gets to watch over Mick, but it tends to not matter since they flock to him throughout their shift. They adore him not just because he’s the cutest baby, but because he is so calm and rarely cries.

Meg held Mick for more than three hours, making up for lost time. When his proud dad arrived after work, he snagged Michael right away since he’d been waiting all day to see him. Again Michael knew it was daddy-time and stayed awake the whole time just staring at him. Tom fed Michael but left the dirty diaper change to Meg.

The proud and adoring parents stayed until 9:40 and then said good night and bye to their little miracle.

Oh my gosh - Mick has the longest legs I've ever seen! He'll make a great rower, Thomas! I'm sure you'll have him enrolled in a junior program in no time:-)

Glad to hear he's progressing so well. Enjoy this time with your precious little one, as well as those long nights of restful sleep - they'll be over before you know it. But you won't mind a bit because you'll have Mick home with you at last. Keep up the great work, Mick!!

love,
ethnea

It's great to see the new photos of Mick (we love the one where he's yawning), and it's wonderful that is weight is where it is. But then again, he's got those big Connolly genes in him.

Keep the pics coming. Thanks for all the updates.
